14 Romantic Valentine’s Dates for The Fit Couple

Is there a better way to bond with your partner than with a little fitness?! Celebrate Valentines day with one of these 14 romantic date ideas to strengthen your muscles and your relationship.

1. Cook a Healthy Meal
Instead of spending big bucks at a busy restaurant, why not go for something more intimate (and healthy). Get groceries, light some candles, create an ambiance and spend some time in the kitchen together. Don’t forget – dark chocolate is sensual AND good for you.

2. Couple’s Massage
Release the tension of the week with a romantic couple’s massage. After some tough workouts, long days at work and general stresses of being an adult a little candlelight and soothing music will set you up for a romantic day.

3. Hit the Gym
A couple that squats together, stays together. Spot each other, do a couples workout, and sweat up some serious endorphins for a better bond.

4. Bike Ride
Make the most of the cooler weather and hope on a bike for the day. Pack a picnic or make a plan to stop and grab a bite on the way and enjoy some time outside. Whether you’re in the mood for a power cycle up the Al Qudra track or feeling more like a leisurely ride a long the coast just know in your heart that you’ve not skipped leg day.

5. Hiking
The weather is perfect for a mountain hike with the one you love. Head over to Hatta and scale the Hajar mountains or to Wadi Helo in Sharjah – said to be one of the most scenic in the country. Don’t forget water, snacks and sunscreen.

6. Dance Lesson
If you don’t know how to dance, now is the time to learn. Sign up for a dance class and get the blood pumping as you learn to move as one with your partner – if you enjoy it, maybe it becomes a regular thing!

7. Kickboxing
Spice up your relationship with something a bit more physical. Grab some boxing glove and pads, and practice some jabs and punches.

8. Kayaking
Rent a kayak for the day and explore the beautiful marine life of the UAE, the tranquil waters and the calming waves will help soften the blow of the upper body workout!

9. Snorkelling
Who doesn’t love fish?! Head over to the East Coast and don’t forget to pack your snorkel! A day spent floating in the ocean, watching the world underwater is a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. Follow it up with some sunbathing and a romantic dinner and your on to a winner.

10. Ice Skating
Just because we live in a desert doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the odd romantic winter sport. Lace up your skates and put your balance to the test with a quick turn around the rink – then celebrate your skills (or ice your bruised bum) at a restaurant with a view and a walk around the Dubai fountains.

11. Paddle Boarding
A day in the sun, on the sea and in love. What could be more perfect. Escape the crowds for a little one-on-one paddle boarding.

12. Rock Climbing
Rock climbing can be challenging, but it’s well worth it – plus, if you’re up for a little competition a race to the top is always a strong bonding exercise…(we can’t be held responsible for arguments and hurt egos).

13. Yoga Class
Get bendy! Work on your flexibility together by heading to a yoga class together, whether is slow, stretchy flows, or a speedy sweat session, yoga is great for your mind and body. If you’re feeling more adventurous, what about acro-yoga?! Now there’s a couple class with a twist!

14. Go for a Walk
It might not sound like the most innovative date idea but sometimes all you need is a good walk. A stroll around the Marina at sunset as the lights start to come on is always beautiful, or a walk up the beach. Wherever you choose to go a romantic walk is a great way to connect away from any distractions, and get your daily steps in.
